I’ve been lucky enough to attend the Neiman Marcus Fashion Presentations for the past 3 years and it’s one of my favorite events in San Diego. It’s a women’s luncheon inside Neiman Marcus Fashion Valley where the extremely talented style adviser, Alex Yanez showcases the upcoming trends for the season, this time around, it’s Spring 2018! Follow along as I show you the top trends and my favorite outfits from the event. I’d love to know your favorites as well, so be sure to share with me in the comments!Brights
If you couldn’t tell from the gorgeous table set up, the first trend is brights. We were welcomed with beautiful table decor of pink, yellow, and orange as the focus, there was even a pink carpet! And if you’ve ever been to a Neiman Marcus restaurant, you know how heavenly the popovers are, mmm! On to the bright trends. If you know me, you know pink is my favorite color so seeing this trend made me one happy girl! What do you think about about this Rosetta Getty watercolor dress and Gucci embroidered bomber jacket! Don’t be afraid to mix brights, pink and red is a great combo.
I love stripes, I recently wore a striped cardigan (you can see it here) and got so many compliments on it, I’m happy to see I’m spring trend ready! But how amazing are these stripe trends also combining beautiful fall colors. This is a trend I can happily get behind!
Oooh just look at these gorgeous pillowy sleeves! The key to statement sleeves is making sure the rest of your outfit is proportionate to your body so you don’t look like you’re completely engulfed in fabric. Keep the rest of the silhouette clean and fitted. Take this first look for example, an exaggerated sleeve top with a slim fitting dress over top and a vest. You can still see the shape of the body but get a beautiful contrast with the sleeves.
It wouldn’t be Spring without florals, and let’s be honest these never go out of style. I actually wear florals all year round but Spring is where it’s at! I love how Alex mixed this floral dress and studded Nour Hammor leather jacket for an edgy look, right up my alley! Also don’t be afraid to mix different floral patterns together for yet another edgy fun look.
Sparkle & Glitter Glam
If this doesn’t meet the sparkle trend I don’t know what does! This dress looks amazing here but in person, whoa, total show stopper! Perfect for a girls night out, date night, or special occasion! Again incorporating other spring trends like bright colors is a great contrast.
Rainbow Jewelry, The Pointed Toe, Logo Bags
I wasn’t sure about the logo trend, but seeing it in person I loved it plus it made me remember that I have quite a few logo bags I can dust off and rock again this spring. I also love fanny packs, like this Gucci velvet bag, but since I have a 25 week bump I’ll have to wait till Summer for this look, so who’s going to rock the trend for me?
Another trend I love and have always partook in, is the pointed toe trend. As seen in my outfit from the event above! I love pointed toe heels, they feel good, look sleek and sophisticated, I mean what’s not to love! How about these Tom Ford denim pumps, yes please! You can also pre-order in white!
So what do you think of these trends? The florals, pointed toe and brights are my favorite. What about yours?
I realize these specific items are beyond expensive so if you see something you like but want an alternative version, just leave a comment and I’ll find you a similar less expensive version!
Have a love day! xo Vanessa
