There are a lot of things I enjoy in this life and date night is one of them! Especially now, with baby Josie’s arrival fast approaching (June 9)! I love getting advice from other moms and parents, they all say the same two things; 1) get sleep now and 2) make time for you and your hubby. So that’s exactly what I intend to do, I’ll work on the sleep thing but I’m starting off with date night! J Rick and I love all the time we get to spend together, between our work schedules it can get a little hectic, so we make sure to have date night every Friday. We love to go out and try a new restaurant or hit up one of our regulars, and other times it’s takeout and spending an hour trying to find something on Netflix.Because I always get dressed up for events, parties, or nights out with the girls, I think it’s just as important to dress up for your husband/significant other so that’s exactly what I like to do! Today’s outfit is no exception. While my body is definitely changing I still love to dress up and find a chic outfit to put together. I was looking for something fun and flirty, when I found this super chic top from Kimi and Kai Maternity (it comes in three colors and I plan on rocking this well after baby too!) I also got another outfit from them I’ll share with you next week, it’s a more casual look. But back to this top…I loved the off the shoulder and lace details, I’m not one to shy away from a collarbone poppin’ top! I added my trusty maternity jeans from Target, a pair of Jessica Simple black d’Orsay pumps, and statement bag to add a little extra pop. Chic to a T and husband approved!!
I wanted to share some of our favorite spots around San Diego in case you’re from here or if you plan on visiting and are looking for recommendations!
- Born and Raised. If you like meat and don’t mind forking out some cash, then you’ll love this Resturant.
- Herb and Wood. Mmmm just thinking about their cocktails and desserts make my mouth water! Try the soufflé and Gin & Lavender cocktail (mocktails for me lately, but just as good!) Also, their menu is impeccable!
- Lionfish. If you’re in the mood for seafood, make sure to stop by Lionfish, they also have great cocktails and beautiful décor and it’s located at the Pendry hotel, so your date night could always turn into an overnight! Just sayin’!
- Haven’t been here yet, but on my list: Cloak and Petal, the décor alone makes me want to go and take photos!
Just wanted to share a few local spots that are perfect for dressing up and heading out for a great date night! Have you been to any of these places?
In addition to date night this weekend, my husband and I are also moving so we’ll be pretty busy with the new house and getting everything moved over and settled. Wish us luck! Well being pregnant I’m more of the supervisor on this job! LOL Hope you have a fun and/or relaxing weekend!! xo Vanessa
