I’m so excited to share today’s OOTD and blog post with you!!! It’s really special to me with a special guest appearance 🙂
Last year I had the opportunity to partner with the world renowned San Diego Museum of Art for their annual Art Alive and Bloom Bash event. In case you missed last years post you can check it out here! What’s extra fun this year around is not only did I get to partner with the SDMA again, but I also got to work with my husband Rick and San Diego Magazine.
I mean look at his face, how could I not be an excited wife!!! The purpose of this shoot was to match our outfits with works of art in the museum and with the help of Nordstrom we were able to do just that! I love the contrast of each outfit working perfectly with the artwork. Being able to share this experience with my husband and also being 6 months pregnant during this shoot was extra special, it was kind of our maternity photos/family photos in a way! haha I’m so happy to have these photos to share with Josie when she’s old enough. The clothing we wore were by top designers like Chloe, Isabel Marant, Alice + Olivia, Gucci and Theory, just to name a few…OK you know I’m all about finding affordable brands to wear and share with you on a daily basis for my OOTD’s, but this shoot just called for something a little extra. And extra I was! I was literally playing dress up in designer clothes and it was a dream come true! Giving the clothes back on the other had was not as much fun (haha) but it was still a dream! What do you think about each outfit pairing with the artwork? Do you see the interpretation? I’d love to know your thoughts!

So back to Art Alive and Bloom Bash! What is that you’re probably wondering! Well, every year for the past 36 years, the museum celebrates their annual Art Alive exhibit and year 37 is sure to be yet another exceptional one! There are 100+ floral interpretations of masterworks of art and four flower filled days of events come alive! Local and national designers create pieces of art using custom flower creations and a piece of art that compliment one another. Exactly like our clothing and art work pairing but with beautiful flowers, it’s such a lovely site to see! I was blown away by these designers and all the details that went into each piece. I’m really looking forward to seeing what they have in store this year. The exhibit will be open from April 26-29 in Balboa Park at the SDMA.
Bloom Bash is the fun-filled opening celebration to kick off Art Alive and it’s such a fun time! You can see my recap from last year here. It involves everything from illuminated visuals, delectable foods and visual stimulations at every turn! It’s a must see, must attend event!
