A letter to my daughter:
Josie, you have no idea how much you are loved. Your closest family and friends all got together to celebrate you! Just you wait until you enter this world, I promise you’ll never go a day without feeling loved, safe, and surrounded by people that would do anything for you.
Your momma is a true girly girl and loves to plan parties so I made sure your shower was nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait for you to see just how beautiful this day honoring you was. I wanted to make sure it was beautiful, elegant, fun, and pink! When I mentioned to my amazingly talented friends in the event industry I was pregnant and planning a shower they all jumped in and helped me put together the perfect day. Oh where do I even start! How about with the sweets, since that’s what I’ve been craving most with you!
Lauren with Sweet Cheeks Baking (who also did the desserts for our wedding) went above and beyond with her eye for design and knowing exactly what type of desserts would be the perfect fit. Including lemon pillows, citrus cupcakes, and not one but two beautiful and delicious cakes! Oh did I mention she took on the role of planner/coordinator/extraordinaire…not sure what I would have done without her. Auntie Lauren to the rescue! Loren, with Four Things Paper also created custom calligraphy to display alongside the desserts, a gorgeous Oh Baby sign and the beautiful invitation!
Speaking of sweets, your Auntie Leslie from Candy Cotton Cart made custom cotton candy favors for all the guests and oh my were they just as sweet as I know you’ll be! Who doesn’t love cotton candy, reminded me of being a kid!
I also wanted to make sure all of our close family and friends left with one other favor, something that I truly love and wear all the time. Something that would remind them of you every time they put it on, a beautiful and soft Rose Quartz Kendra Scott necklace. I love seeing photos of everyone wearing their necklaces, it instantly makes me think of you!
If you look at these photos you may notice the beautiful white open space located at Liberty Station’s newest venue space Building 177. The moment I walked in for a tour I knew this blank canvas, full of light would be ideal to create the perfect setting for your shower.
When I met with Jillian of To Be Designed she took my vision and exceeded all my expectations with her design and creativity on all the decor. From the two lounges, two stunning backdrops, the bar, bathtub filled with pink champagne, gold shelving to hold the champagne coups and cotton candy, all the vases, lanterns and little details throughout were all her. I can’t even begin to tell you just how amazing this wonderful woman is and without a doubt a wonderful female role model when it comes to business and creativity!
Cheri with Cheri’s Vintage Table brought her beautiful dishes, silverware, and glassware for each table setting and it really was a dream come true. Soft white, gold, and pink tones all complementing every aspect of design.
Speaking of design, did you catch the fun balloon arches throughout?! Ahhh I loved this so much! Sabrina and Melissa of Golden Arrow Events created the most gorgeous balloon backdrops for the cotton candy and drink displays. It was a fun, playful, and girly aspect that I couldn’t pass up for you! It was actually the first thing I knew I wanted for your shower and everything else evolved from that!
Fresh flowers are something your dad and I have in our house at all times so it only made sense to have them at your shower! Nickie from Petals and Pollen Floral Design and Zeineb from Lavender Rose Florals went above and beyond with florals. Oh my goodness, I could smell the fresh florals the second I walked into the room, each table had a beautiful arrangement in addition to every table, mini bathtub, hanging florals for the dessert backdrop and every open space they could find! I was in complete awe and still get our flowers delivered to the house from these lovely ladies!
You may have noticed your name displayed in a few different areas and that’s because Brittni of Studio Noel custom made your Josie and Josephine wooden name signs. She also made the custom name signs for all the guests at our wedding, and your monthly name signs! I just can’t get enough of her beautiful custom work. Your oversized Josie name sign will be displayed above your crib! 🙂
Because you are your momma’s daughter, I know you’ll have an insane amount of clothes, so your Auntie Drea made you your very own clothing rack. She is one handy and creative woman and I’ll tell you this, that rack is practically filled already with adorable clothes! You lucky girl!
Your mema (grandma) and Auntie Amber created a beautiful spread of delicious food with a charcuterie board, salads, sandwiches, and fresh fruit. It was the perfect meal for an afternoon lunch! You can always count on them to keep you full and make delicious treats whenever you want! 🙂
We can’t forget about moms good friend Lindsay, she’s an incredible photographer and you’ll get to know her well! She took mine and your dads gender reveal photos, in addition to many others, and captured your shower and every detail beautifully. She is also one of the sweetest souls I’ve ever met!
I’ve made it a goal of mine to surround myself, and you, with amazing women that you can look up to, ask for help and feel loved no matter what. Just being around these women and not to mention all the family and friends that came to celebrate you I couldn’t hold back tears. Feeling the love for you that day was more than anything I could ever ask for.
I love you Josie.
